Brick Oven Pizzeria

New cutting-edge technology provides access in public restrooms for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Brick Oven Pizzeria – “Turning on the Lights” – is the FIRST business to equip its public restrooms with the Confident Navigator™ Solution on July 16th, 2019.

Tim Kolenda, owner of the Brick Oven Pizzeria in Lexington, KY gets it!  Tim is excited to pioneer the way for public restroom accessibility in the United States for the blind and visually impaired.  The Confident Navigator™ Solution is the system that promotes independence and dignity to the blind and visually impaired through audible feedback.  Tim’s customers have independent access to navigate the Brick Oven Pizzeria’s public restrooms in a new LIGHT!

Join Tim and the Confident Navigator™ Team at 12 PM on Tuesday,  July 16th, 2019 at the Brick Oven Pizzeria at 4371 Old Harrodsburg Rd. Lexington, KY 40513, to check out the first phase of this up and coming technology.

People who are blind, are out and about more today than ever in history.  Advancements in technology have assisted the blind and visually impaired to work and thrive in all aspects of life.  For decades, many who are blind have achieved greatness, high self-esteem and dignified success - however for many, the public restroom is a personal area where more assistance may be needed. Current assistive technological solutions on the market are unable to be used in the public restrooms due to privacy – however the Confident Navigator™ Solution is the first to break down that barrier. Would you enjoy using the facility in the dark?

In test groups, John shares that the Confident Navigator™ Solution eliminates awkward encounters in the facility while dining out.  Garrett said, “The knowledge of an accessible public restroom assures me that I can attend meetings, dine out and otherwise participate in the community with freedom and confidence.”  Pamela says, “Finally!  After so much advancement in technology… this is so exciting that I can now independently find the resources that I need in a public restroom without sanitary concerns and imposing on others.”
